Las Vegas at the Last Minute

May 7, 2013

Planning a last-minute trip? Maybe you have an unexpected vacation from work, other travel plans fall through, or you want to surprise someone with a quick vacation.  Las Vegas is a great place for last-minute trips and you can have a great time in Las Vegas without too much planning ahead. Many people have had a great time visiting Las Vegas on a spur of the moment trip. Of course, lots of people also really enjoy planning out a trip to Las Vegas and following their vacation plans, but we know that’s not for everyone.

Luckily, Las Vegas has plenty of accommodation options so you shouldn’t have trouble finding a place to stay at the last minute. However, you should definitely check to make sure that there is no big show or event in town that is taking up most of the rooms. Before you get on the plane, call a few hotels just to make sure! You might even benefit from your spontaneity; lots of hotels offer low prices at the last minute because they know that the room would be empty otherwise.

Once you get to Las Vegas, lots of fun activities don’t require any planning at all. Walk up and down the Las Vegas strip and visit casinos, watch street performers, and take photos by famous landmarks. Do some shopping or just spend some time people watching. There is so much to see on the Strip that you can spend an entire day without needing any plans, reservations, or tickets.

Of course, you’ll probably want to see a show in Las Vegas. You might find that some of the shows are sold out if you get to Las Vegas without buying tickets in advance – but don’t worry! If you’re flexible and look into a few different shows, it won’t be hard to find cheap discount tickets to a show that very night or for one of the next few nights, depending on the length of your trip. Just like with hotels, last-minute tickets to shows can sometimes be a great deal.  No matter how much advance warning you have, you’ll have a great time in Las Vegas!
