Barry Manilow's New Show Premiere Delayed

The highly anticipated debut of Barry Manilow’s new show at the Paris was canceled last night due to a power surge that crippled the music and audio-visual parts of the show—which is basically the whole thing. Technicians have been working hard to fix the problem to ensure that the show will go on for tonight’s 10:00 p.m. show.

Manilow has said that while he will be singing some of his standards in the new show (yes, he’s kept Copacabana in the new production), the new show is unlike the show he performed at the Las Vegas Hilton for five years. He’ll be playing up the romance and love aspect of his new show, which is the theme of an album he released earlier this year, “Greatest Love Songs of All Time.” He said the Parisian theme of the Paris Resort also adds to the romantic allure of the show, and the theater space designed specifically for his show mirrors the romance theme as well.

We’ll have more information on Manilow and his new Las Vegas show at Paris in the next few weeks.
