It’s official. Celine Dion is pregnant with twins. After six in-vitro treatments and one miscarriage, Celine and her husband Rene Angelil are expecting! The double bundles of joy are due in November, which will give her about four months before she begins her blockbuster new Las Vegas show at Caesars Colosseum on March 15, 2011. She promises that if everything goes as planned, she will be there for opening night. Her contract calls for 70 shows a year, and she has arranged things so that she can be there for her children while still keeping her eager fans happy. Celine is well-known for the respect she has for her fans and she adores them.

Celine is mom to one son, Rene Charles, age 9. She has been trying desperately to get pregnant again, but at age 42, she had a very hard time conceiving. She is about 14 weeks pregnant and wanted to wait until she was out of her crucial first trimester before she announced her family’s exciting news. Because of her age and nature of conceiving, she is considered a high-risk pregnancy. It is possible that she could be bedridden for part of her pregnancy, but the timing for the new additions and the show could not be better.

Celine sums up her feelings about her exciting news: “What I love most in life is to be a mother. There is no stronger performance than that. Trophies and money do not give a meaning to life, and it does not bring you real happiness. A child does!”
