Lance Burton Returns to Stage

Let us be the first to wish you an early "Happy Lance Burton Day!" The real Lance Burton Day isn't until July 7, but today is indeed a happy Lance Burton Day--especially for Lance Burton, since he just signed a six-year contract to continue his Las Vegas show at the Monte Carlo.

Master Magician Burton has been absent from the Monte Carlo stage for about two months now. He broke his foot while performing his act and had surgery a few days later. He's been recuperating ever since, and his current contract with the Monte Carlo is set to expire very soon. About a week ago he made a cryptic announcement that after his doctor cleared him to take to the stage to finish out his current contract, he'd be making a big announcement about his plans for when his contract expires.

Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman was on hand for Burton's big announcement, and proclaimed July 7 as Lance Burton Day right before Burton announced he would be staying at the Monte Carlo for six more years. Perhaps not so coincidentally, Burton will return to the stage on July 7, two months to the day since he sustained his foot injury.

Burton has been performing his Las Vegas magic show at the theater named after him at the Monte Carlo for 13 years and in Las Vegas for 27 years. He is a class act and a perennial favorite on the Las Vegas strip.

Have you seen Lance Burton's act? What did you think?
