LOVE Cirque du Soleil Show 5-Year Anniversary
Cirque du Soleil’s homage to the Beatles, LOVE, will be celebrating five years of Las Vegas shows on June 8. Cirque officials are hopeful that, in honor of the event, the remaining living Beatles and Beatles widows will be in attendance. The show has always had a stamp of approval from this group, which includes Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, John Lennon widow Yoko Ono, and George Harrison widow Olivia Harrison. The four were present when the show premiered five years ago, and this is a highly anticipated reunion. They are expected to speak and go onstage at the end of the show and pose with the cast for photos.
June 8 would normally be a dark day for the Las Vegas show, but in an effort to try and reunite everyone for the special show, cast and crew members agreed to swap their day off for another day in order to perform for the rock legends and family.
Paul McCartney is scheduled to perform in Las Vegas on June 10 anyways for his Up and Coming Tour at the MGM Garden Arena. Ringo will be in Europe on tour but officials are hopeful he can make the trip to Vegas for LOVE anniversary.
Also expected to attend the show and party afterwards: George Martin, known as the “fifth Beatle” for all his production work on the Beatles music, with his son, Giles.
LOVE is a Cirque du Soleil production created around and including the music and lives of the Beatles. It can be seen at the Mirage hotel and casino. Beatles fans may also enjoy the B-Beatles Show Tribute at Planet Hollywood hotel and casino.
