Marie Osmond is Nevada Ballet's Woman of the Year
Marie Osmond was honored as Nevada Ballet’s Woman of the Year this past Sunday at the NBT’s Black and White Ball at Paris Hotel & Casino. Marie is in good company. Former NBT Woman of the Year Honorees include Twyla Tharp, Carol Channing, Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Debbie Reynolds, and Rita Rudner. The NBT holds the gala each year to honor legendary women who have impacted Nevada performing arts in a positive way.
Marie graciously accepted the honor and later met with fans as she signed autographs, posed for photos, and flashed her stunning smile. She was joined by several other Las Vegas celebrities and headliners for the occasion, including comedian George Wallace.
The gala evening is also a major fundraiser for Nevada Ballet Theater. Guests of the event were treated to several dance numbers performed by members of the dance company. The funds raised will help keep NBT, the largest professional ballet company in Nevada to provide instruction, stage shows, and community outreach. The company will also be able to buy a new $40k dance floor!
Donny and Marie’s Las Vegas show at the Flamingo is quickly becoming a Las Vegas institution, and the duo are signed to continue the show until 2012.
