Marie Osmond Returns to Las Vegas Show After Death of Son

Just one day after her son’s funeral, Marie Osmond is poised to return to work in the Las Vegas show she stars in with her brother Donny.

Marie’s son committed suicide on February 26 by jumping from the balcony of his 8th-story apartment. He was an aspiring fashion designer who was said to be suffering from depression. He was eighteen years old and one of eight children. The family held a private funeral yesterday in the family’s home state of Utah.

There are several reasons cited as to why Marie is returning to work so soon after her son’s death. "She's going back to work because it affects a lot of people when she doesn't work," said show producer Chip Lightman to E! "There's over 100 people who work on the show, and Marie never wants to let people down so she's going back to work tonight." She and Donny have already rescheduled the shows they missed after the death for people who held tickets to the canceled shows.

It’s unclear as to the tone the show will take or if she’ll even make mention of the tragedy. It is clear that she treasures her fans and cares very much for them.
