Marie Osmond's First Show After Her Son's Death

Marie Osmond made a difficult yet triumphant return to the Las Vegas Flamingo stage earlier this week, giving her first performance with her brother Donny since the tragic suicide death of her son, Michael.

The sold-out audience included Las Vegas entertainment reporter Robin Leach, and he gave a full accounting of the show on his blog.

As the show began, Marie announced to the audience, “This show is for my son. He would have wanted this. We Osmonds get through this by keep on singing, and that’s what we’re going to do tonight.”

She had her highs and lows in the show, at one time laughing at her brother Donny but then later appearing to be overcome with tears as she climbed the stairs at the end of the show. The duo normally have a fan meet and greet after the show, but Donny attended the event after the show solo.

Donny and Marie took a week off from their Las Vegas show after the death of Marie’s son, and their performances over the next week will make up for the shows that were canceled. They resume their regular show schedule in about a week.
