Extremely sad news for Las Vegas entertainer Marie Osmond: Her 18-year-old son, Michael Blosil, is dead from an apparent suicide. It is being widely reported that he leapt to his death from his Los Angeles apartment on Friday night. He apparently left a note that detailed his reasons for his suicide, saying that he did not have friends and had a hard time fitting in.

Michael was one of Marie’s eight children. He attended rehab in 2007 but was reportedly clean and sober at the time of his death. Marie has released the following statement:

"My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time."

Michael lived with Marie in Las Vegas during his senior year of high school. More recently, he was a student at Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. People have started bringing flowers and other mementos to create a memorial at the place of Michael’s death.

The Donny and Marie show at the Flamingo has been suspended for an indefinite amount of time. Shows Las Vegas will continue to give updates on the tragic situation.
