Michael Jackson's Las Vegas Bodyguards Speak Out

Michael Jackson’s Las Vegas bodyguards are coming forward nearly nine months after his death to give the public a glimpse into the life Jackson lived in the years leading up to his death.

Jackson’s bodyguards spoke exclusively to ABC news in an in-depth interview that’s being aired in increments on the network.

There are stories of family members trying to gain access to Jackson while he was present in his Las Vegas house and being turned away by the body guards. They also discussed the financial woes that had plagued Jackson in recent years. Incidents include credit cards in Jackson’s name being declined on numerous occasions, along with evictions from hotels when management realized the hotel charges couldn’t—or wouldn’t—be paid.

This is how sad it got: When Jackson’s good friend the Reverend Jesse Jackson was having his 66th birthday, he wanted Jackson to attend. But Jackson couldn’t afford the expenses involved with traveling to the event.
One of the bodyguards, Bill Whitfield, said, "Jessie Jackson put up his credit card to fly the entire staff and team out and put us up in a hotel three nights," Whitfield said.

One thing that stood out to the bodyguards, however, was Jackson’s unequivocal love for his children, and how much they adored him.
