The female rock duo Heart had an amazing string of hits in the 1970s and 1980s, and they are still going strong all these years later. They were in the Seattle music scene years before the Seattle music scene was on the map.
Sisters Anne and Nancy Wilson are the “heart” of Heart. The band has sold over 35 million albums with hard rocking hit songs such as “Barracuda,” “Magic Man,” “Straight On,” “Kick it Out,” and power ballads such as “These Dreams,” “What About Love,” “If Looks Could Kill,” “Dreamboat Annie,” and “Never.” They’ve always been able to combine hauntingly beautiful lyrics and harmonies with hard-driving guitar riffs, making the Heart sound automatically recognizable for over 30 years.

The duo recently returned to the recording studio and the result is their latest album, “Red Velvet Car.” This is their thirteenth studio album and no doubt thirteen will be Heart’s lucky number. The album includes many of the hits that made Heart a household name, along with 12 new tracks. The result is an exciting blend of classic and contemporary rock which is sure to please both long-time fans of Anne and Nancy and an entirely new fan base as well.

Rolling Stone gave Red Velvet Car 3 ½ stars and said, “For some fans, Heart’s finest moment might be right now, as the Wilson sisters keep making good music years after their classic-rock peers have faded away.” Nancy Wilson told Rolling Stone, “There’s no financial reason for us to record new music,” but she revealed, “We can’t help it, it’s what we do.” Indeed, this band has been rocking since the 1970s and shows no sign of slowing down.
