While the name Ron White might not automatically ring a bell, the name “Tater Salad” will, especially if you’re a regular watcher of Comedy Central. The cigar-chomping comedian has two of the most top-rated comedy specials in Comedy Central’s history. Along with his ubiquitous cigar, he’s usually got a glass of scotch on the rocks as he performs onstage. His razor-sharp wit and blunt delivery in his signature Texas drawl reveal a hilarious insight into some of the more absurd things people do and say on a regular basis. His popular catchphrase and punch line is, “You can’t fix stupid,” and he’s got a comedy CD with the same name. White is also a two-time Grammy Award nominee.

Ron White appeared with comedians Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable guy in the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” to sold-out crowds in over 90 cities. Before the tour, he was a struggling stand-up comedian, traveling from comedy club to honky-tonk in his beat up Nissan truck. This happened for 20 years before he joined the Blue Collar comedians and was propelled to stardom.

White has also been the star of his own comedy special on the WB, the aptly titled “Ron White Show.” He’s appeared on “Late Night with David Letterman,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and “The Late Show with Craig Ferguson.” One of his latest project involves starring in a sitcom created by “Designing Women” creator Linda Bloodworth for the USA network.
