Come and see Zarkana, Cirque du Soleil’s latest acrobatic performance. After some international success, Cirque du Soleil’s act, Zarkana, comes to Las Vegas. The show is a visually intriguing love story, where characters compete for the affection of the main character, Zark.
Cirque du Soleil has a new show in Las Vegas called Zarkana, and the performance promises to be a visually stunning and one of a kind experience. Famous for their amazing acrobatic and superbly choreographed shows, Cirque du Soleil’s latest performance, Zarkana, includes beautiful side effects and set designs in addition to an intriguing storyline.
The Zarkana show began in June 2011, where it played at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The show has also premiered at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow, as well as in Madrid. After Zarkana’s success in Moscow, the show became a permanent feature at the Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The latest Cirque du Soleil show took over for the group’s former Las Vegas production, Viva Elvis.
The writer and creator Francois Girard, who hales from Quebec, is internationally renowned. He has created a fascinating show that blends many different artistic elements with the power of the human body. The costume designer Alan Hranitelj did a superb job creating visually striking costumes, deriving inspiration from the 1920s, 1930s, and the Art Deco movement. Floral designs are also prominently featured throughout the show, especially roses.
The show features a captivating story about a magician named Zark and the love of his life, Lia. It takes places in an abandoned theater featuring peculiar characters that will astound you with their dramatic acrobatic feats. The Mutant Ladies, who are all competing for Zark’s attention, are captivating and haunting characters. One character is the product of a Mad Scientist’s faulty experiments, and another character is an extension of an ivy plant, a snake woman, and a spider woman. These Mutant Ladies are extensions of the set, in which three arches represent all of these characters, with the exception of the spider woman.
The show includes many of the incredible acts that Cirque du Soleil is known for, including juggling, highwire, aerial ropes, cyr wheels, and trapeze routines. In addition to these astonishing acrobatic routines, Zarkana also includes sand painting, in which one of the characters uses artistic renderings in the sand to tell a story.
